Fire Awareness Week is the time when firefighters put fire safety in the spotlight. Queensland ’s firefighters have been out and about in their communities promoting Fire Awareness Week.
A number of events were planned by firefighters throughout the State during the week to demonstrate their continuing commitment to increasing fire safety throughout Queensland.

I caught up with the boys from Balmoral - (507A) , Camp Hill - (509A), and Cannon Hill - (850L) as they did a Vertical Rescue Exercise, Saturday morning at Carindale Shopping Centre. This exercise involves absailing the side of buildings/cliffs etc, there is a series of whistles that allows the main absailer let his support crew know if he needs to up or down.
